Although they are now a whole lot richer the pair say they “can’t go out and be totally reckless.”

Paul, 59, even continued running his gardening business four years after they scooped the huge prize in 2012.

And they’ve made sure every penny has counted, spending the fortune on things that will benefit others.

Marie said: “The proudest thing I have done with the money is to buy my grandson’s school a defibrillator.”

Paul added: “It is a special school and we were over the moon to give them that.”

The pair are keen volunteers in their free time and have raised a lot of funds for various charities.

They helped gather a impressive donation for Cancer Research after their daughter was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Paul also volunteers looking after Lichfield War Memorial.
