The Sun exclusively revealed that Walkers had discontinued its Marmite crisp flavour at the end of last year.

The 20-year crisp flavour has slowly been disappearing off shelves and fans were left devastated.

Marmite is owned by Unilever and the brands does produce its own Marmite-flavored snacks range.

Cheese lovers can get cheddar cheese and Marmite bites, which is British Ilchester cheddar blended with Marmite and comes in a pack of five for £1.50.

Fans can also get Marmite oven-baked cashews, we found a 90g bag priced at £2.50 on Ocado.

But it looks like crips lovers need not be disappointed for long as Marmite has hinted its own brand of crisps could be in the works.

The brand shared a Facebook and Instagram post with a hand holding a single crisp.

Marmite said: “Coming soon…”

Unsurprisingly excitement erupted across both social media platforms with thousands of likes and hundreds of comments.

One Facebook user said: “I’d love to see Marmite Pringles!”

Another said: “Marmite you are saving the day! My mum will be so happy! I’ve been trying to buy her a box before the old version disappears  thank you thank you.”

“Excellent!! I’m all in,” said a third user.

An Instagram user claimed the product would be: “Perfect with a cheese sandwich.”

“Bring it on!” said someone else.

A third user cried: “Oh my god yes.”

The Sun has reached out to Marmite for comment and will update this story once we get more information.

If you’re a snack lover it’s worth noting there are quite a few crisps that Walkers have discontinued in the last few months.

The snack maker apologised to Walkers lovers who said they couldn’t locate their favourite Smiths Cheese Moments crisps anywhere.

In October Walkers axed its hugely popular Worcester sauce flavour and fans claimed “their sandwiches were ruined.”

Fans also said goodbye to Max Fiercely Flamin Hot crisps in November as well as the Beef and Onion flavour.

Last month Walkers discontinued its Sensations Regal Lamb and Mint crisps.
