Stepping down: Next finance chief Amanda James
Amanda James had been ‘planning this change for some time and it coincides with her husband’s retirement’, the High Street fashion retailer said.
She will be replaced by Jonathan Blanchard, who is finance chief and chief operating officer of clothing brand Reiss. He will join Next in February and take over from James in July.
Last month, Next increased its stake in Reiss to 72 per cent. Next also raised its profits outlook for the third time in four months.
A Next spokesman said: ‘Our financial position today is testament to her [James’s] diligence and hard work.’
