APPLE could launch brand new gadgets as soon as next week – just in time for Christmas.
The tech giant is on a roll, releasing new products every month since September.
Its November event showing off new MacBooks was believed to be the last launch of 2020.
But now gadget geeks think they’ve found proof that more tech is coming in December.
Unofficial Apple blog MacRumors claims to have obtained an internal memo to service providers that AppleCare changes next week.
These changes will reportedly take place on Tuesday, December 8 at 5.30am PT – or 1.30pm in London.
Importantly, Apple has reportedly advised technicians to prepare for new product units, updated descriptions, and revamped pricing.
According to the blog, Apple has issued near-identical memos ahead of previous product announcements – including the recent iPhone 12.
Another reliable Twitter leaker “L0vetodream” has also claimed that news is on the way.
“You’ll get a Christmas surprise from Apple,” he wrote.
“P.S. Winter exclusive, good for winter.”
Several Apple products have been rumoured for imminent launch.
One is the AirPods Studio, which is Apple’s first pair of over-ear headphones – not counting the Beats brand.
They would carry a high price tag, along with premium features like noise-cancellation and Siri integration.
We’re also expecting location-tracking tags called AirTags that let your iPhone keep tabs on your important belongings.
There could even be new iPhone colours, though an entirely new model is unlikely.
Apple AirPods – what you’ll need
Here’s what you need to know…
To use the AirPods, you’ll need to make sure you have one of the following:
- iPhone with iOS 10 or later
- iPad with iOS 10 or later
- iPod Touch with iOS 10 or later
- Apple Watch with WatchOS 3 or later
- Mac with MacOS Sierra or later
You’ll also need to sign up for an iCloud account for the AirPods to work properly.
Of course, it’s possible that new products might not launch.
Apple hasn’t publicly confirmed any such announcement – and certainly not an event.
Usually if there was a big Apple event, details of timings would be made public just over a week in advance.
But it’s possible Apple could simply announce new products via press release.
Alternatively, shiny new Apple gear could simply turn up on the firm’s online store – with minimal fanfare.
We’ll only know the truth on December 8.
