ONE lucky resident scooped an entire £388k Postcode Lottery prize due to a quirk.

The winner from Runcorn in Cheshire was only the person playing in the WA7 2YN post code, meaning they kept the jackpot for themselves.

The lucky punter, who chose to remain anonymous, received the good news on Saturday.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Jeff Brazier knocked on the lucky punters front door to present them with the cheque.

Jeff said: “A massive congratulations to our winner in Runcorn. I hope they enjoy the life-changing sum and have plenty of fun celebrating.”

The Postcode Lotto is a monthly subscription where you win based on where you live.

Brits pay each month to be entered into the draw and if more than one person in your catchment area wins, you have to split the prize.

It costs £10 per month and could see you scoop up a prize between £1,000 or £3million.

Earlier this month a group of 14 residents from Nottingham scooped a £1m prize between them.

In May 750 locals in Lancaster, Lancs, won £200k each after they bagged a £3.2m lottery prize.
