Are newspapers published over the Easter Bank Holiday?

Yes, your daily national newspaper is published on every bank holiday – except Christmas Day.

This means that the The Sun on Sunday will still be printed and distributed over the Easter bank holiday, including Easter Sunday.

Every other national newspaper’s Sunday editions will be printed and released as usual on this day.

There are some publications such as the Financial Times who don’t publish on selected bank holidays, including Good Friday.

They also don’t publish a paper on a Sunday.

The Metro is not published on public holidays, and does not get published on Easter Saturday or Sunday.

However, this is because it is only published between Monday to Friday anyway.

Are newspapers delivered over the Easter Bank Holiday?

The Easter weekend extends from Good Friday until Easter Monday.

Papers will be delivered to various outlets on this day as usual, but it would be best to check with the shop that delivers your paper to make sure that the newspaper is dropped through your letterbox.

You can buy them as usual from most small shops that sell them, although it may be best to check beforehand in case they have changed their opening times to accommodate the holiday.

Supermarkets will be closed on Easter Sunday due to regulations set out by the UK government which states that stores over 280 square metres in size must close.

This means that you won’t be able to purchase a newspaper from a supermarket on Easter Sunday.

You should expect papers to be delivered as usual on Easter Monday, although much like before you should check with your local retailer as some may be closed.
