CVC Capital Partners is ploughing ahead with plans for an initial public offering despite subdued demand and increased stock market volatility.
The Luxembourg-based private equity firm, which was previously valued at £12billion, is preparing to announce its intention to float in the coming days.
Shares in CVC could start trading in Amsterdam as soon as November, according to reports.
A float would be one of the largest in Europe this year in what has been a quiet 12 months for listings.
But the public markets have been subdued this year, with the latest data from EY showing that volumes were down 5 per cent in the first nine months of 2023, while proceeds fell 32 per cent.
Several of CVC’s rivals have gone public over the last few years.
Bridgepoint was the first buyout company in decades to list in the UK but its share price has crashed 60 per cent since it went public in London in 2021.
CVC declined to comment.
