A WOMAN was left stunned when her cheap Christmas stocking filler turned out to be worth £25,000.

The 18-year-old from Germantown, Maryland did not expect a scratch-off lottery ticket she got for Christmas would change her life.

The woman told Maryland Lottery officials she had never tried her luck on the lottery before winning the prize from a Peppermint Payout game.

The lucky scratch-off lottery ticket was one of the gifts her parents gave her.

Her dad said: “We gave them to her as a stocking stuffer.”

The woman said scratching off the $30,000 prize was a “shocking and weird feeling.”

“It was surreal,” she added.

She said she also won prizes of $1 and $2 from two other tickets in her stocking.

It comes as another lucky couple scooped £1.6million on the lottery and celebrated their huge win with a bucket of KFC.
