The three places with the biggest house price gains this year have been revealed – and we take a look at some properties for sale in those locations.
The areas are York, Woking and Swansea, which have all seen average property values rise by more than £50,000 in the past year.

Kim Kinnaird, of Halifax, said: ‘Overall 2022 was another year of rapid house price growth for most areas in the UK.
‘While existing homeowners will welcome the increased value of their home, such a jump makes it much more challenging for those looking to step onto the property ladder or move into the city.’

However, the latest house price data shows values are slowing ‘sharply’. They have slumped for a fourth consecutive month in their longest losing streak since the 2008 financial crisis.
The average price of houses that were sold during December dropped by 0.1 per cent, according to Nationwide Building Society.
It said that the average home sold for £262,068 during December, down by a little over £1,700 compared to November.
