MANY high street shops will close for the Christmas and New Year Bank Holidays to give staff some much-needed time off.

Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year, meaning there is an extra bank holiday on the following Tuesday, December 27.

This is on top of the usual Boxing Day bank holiday on Monday, December 26.

But the festivities don’t even there, as there is also a Bank Holiday on January 2 with New Year’s Day also falling on a Sunday.

Boots has more than 2,000 stores across the country and opening times can vary across the UK.

Is Boots open over the Christmas and New Year Bank Holidays?

All Boots stores will be closed on Christmas Day.

The majority of stores will then reopen at 10am on Boxing Day and close at 5pm.

Some stores will also remain open on New Year’s Day, with some opening at 11am.

On Bank Holiday Monday (January 2), most stores will open at 9am and close at 6pm.
