What are the Wickes opening times during the Queen funeral bank holiday?

Wickes has announced that they will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday.

The DIY store put out a message on their website: “As a mark of respect to recognise Her Majesty’s State Funeral on
Monday 19th September, we will be closing all of our stores.”

The store will re-open as usual on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

Is Wickes delivering over the Bank Holiday?

Wickes have also confirmed that they will not be delivering on Bank Holiday Monday.

They said, in addition to closing stores, “Click and Collect and Home Deliveries will also be suspended on the day.”

When are the Bank Holiday dates for 2022?

After this weekend there will be just a few bank holidays left until the end of the year.

The first bank holiday of the year was on January 3 which was a substitute day for New Year’s Day which fell on a Saturday this year.

Then Brits got to enjoy a hot bank holiday weekend in April thanks to Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Soon after, May 2 brought with it the Early May Bank Holiday and then Brits headed into the Spring Bank Holiday and the Platinum Jubilee Holiday on June 2 and 3, 2022.

Then, Brits enjoyed a Summer Bank Holiday on Monday, August 29, 2022.

Since the Queen passed away on September 8, 2022, a bank holiday was scheduled to take place on the day of her funeral.

This means that there will be a September bank holiday on Monday, September 19, 2022.

The remaining bank holiday dates are:

  • December 26 – Boxing Day
  • December 27 – Christmas Day (substitute day)
