Indoors: A paved path runs from the sidewalk across the lawn to the front door. It opens directly into a living room with a fireplace in the corner. To the left is a den with built-in bookshelves and a built-in bench seat under street-facing windows.

Behind the living room, through a wide doorway, is a dining room with a bubble-style chandelier. A family room with tile floors and a recently installed electric fireplace is off the dining room, through French doors.

The updated kitchen, also off the dining room, has a pantry with custom-designed shelving, glass doors that open to the rear deck and a quartz island that the sellers extended to create room for additional seating.

All three bedrooms are on the second floor, reached from a staircase in the den. The spacious primary suite, at the top of the stairs, includes a bedroom big enough to hold a king-size bed; an enclosed sunroom that functions as a walk-in closet and workout space; and a bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate soaking tub.

The other two bedrooms share a full bathroom off the hallway with black-and-white tile floors and a combined tub and shower finished in white subway tile.

Outdoor space: The recently refinished wood deck behind the house has space for a dining table and a barbecue. It steps down to the backyard, which is enclosed by a new cedar fence and includes a pea-gravel area and a lawn shaded by a mature tree.

In the 1950s, Pioneertown was a popular location for filming Westerns — both TV shows and films — as it was close enough to Los Angeles to be easily accessible, but remote enough to convincingly pass as the Old West. Today, the area’s biggest draw is Pappy + Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, a barbecue restaurant and music venue where well-known musicians regularly perform. This house is within walking distance of Pappy + Harriet’s, as well as a saloon-style bar and a shop selling locally made art and handicrafts.

Joshua Tree National Park is about 20 minutes away by car. Driving to Palm Springs takes about 40 minutes. Los Angeles is about two and a half hours away.

Size: 1,600 square feet

Price per square foot: $437

Indoors: A long dirt driveway leads from the street to the front of the property, which is dotted with Joshua trees. The wide front porch looks out over the desert, and the front door, in the middle of the porch, opens into the main living space.

To the left is a sitting area that holds a sectional sofa, a coffee table and a small entertainment center. (The house, which has been used as a vacation rental, is being sold fully furnished.) To the right is a sunny dining area with wide-plank floors. This space is open to the kitchen, which has ample cabinetry and a built-in desk.

A hallway off the dining area extends to the other side of the house. The spacious primary bedroom, at the far end, has two walk-in closets and access to a patio. A full bathroom is next door.

The other two bedrooms, off the hallway, are each big enough to hold a queen-size bed. They share a full bathroom with a combined tub and shower.

A laundry room off the near end of the hall has access to a bonus space that could be used as a home office or an additional guest room.

Outdoor space: The patio in back of the house holds a dining set. A few steps away is a cowboy pool with mountain views. Other structures on the property include spaces used as guest quarters and a game room; horse corrals; and a charging station for electric vehicles.
