Indoors: The sellers are only the second owners in the home’s 110-year history. They have occupied it for 20 years, over which time they have made many improvements but also strived to preserve its character. Original features include heart-of-pine floors, blown-glass windows and rare chestnut woodwork.

The owners removed a back staircase to add a half bathroom between the main and second levels; they also added a second full bathroom on the second floor. They also made the kitchen more functional by enlarging it, and added cabinets and up-to-date appliances.

The interior mixes Victorian and Craftsman elements, so you enter a foyer with high ceilings and boxy chestnut trim around windows and doorways. An adjacent parlor includes a staircase with rectangular, narrowly spaced balusters. The living room has a large bay window and a corner fireplace with an Arts and Crafts carved mantel and gas logs. The formal dining room next to it includes a bay window and a Victorian chandelier with ornate brass arms. Pocket doors divide these spaces.

The kitchen was renovated about a decade ago with Craftsman-style wood cabinets, granite countertops and patterned rectangular wall tile; a breakfast nook with access to a backyard deck was also added. The commercial-grade appliances include a FiveStar 60-inch range with six burners, a griddle, dual ovens and a wide stainless steel hood.

Three bedrooms, including a suite, are on the second floor. All of the rooms are spacious, with large, wide windows, pine floors, picture-rail molding and one or two closets. There is a full hallway bathroom with marble subway tile and double sinks in addition to the original full bathroom. A small room with a window is used as a study.

The primary suite is on the renovated third floor. It has high-end vinyl plank flooring and all the quirks one expects from being under a roof gable: angled walls with skylights and a deep dormer window that serves as a generous reading nook. The bathroom includes two floating vanities, a soaking tub and a glass-walled shower.

There is also a partially finished basement with a rec room with vinyl flooring, multiple closets and a bathroom with a free-standing shower and laundry appliances. An erstwhile root cellar is ideal for wine storage.
