THE Xbox Series X sold out within minutes after hitting shelves last year and has been next to impossible to get hold of ever since.

Restocks of the console at retailers like GAME, Argos and John Lewis are snapped up at lightning speed, leading gamers on a wild goose chase that has rumbled on for months.

1) Where to buy Xbox Series X and S in the UK

It’s all a bit up in the air at the moment.

As has been the case for months, stores are largely maintaining radio silence on restock dates to avoid a mad rush when sales re-open.

A number of UK retailers release stock every few weeks that are quickly gobbled up by online shoppers.

They include GAME, John Lewis, Amazon, Argos, Currys, Smyths Toys and Very.

It means that even if you miss out on a restock, there’s always another opportunity to try your luck right around the corner.

Recently, GameStop dropped an Xbox Series X restock which bundled the console with newly released game Far Cry 6.

Stocks of electronics, including video game consoles are low across the world due to a worldwide shortage in microchips.

Generally speaking, it’s a lot easier to get hold of the Series S than the Series X at the moment, as Microsoft’s cheaper console is not as in demand.

The drought is expected to last until at least 2022.

2) Where to buy Xbox Series X and S in the US

US gamers are experiencing the same issues as their UK counterparts when it comes to getting hold of Microsoft’s new consoles.

The Xbox Series X and S are sold out almost everywhere with restocks typically being snapped up within minutes.
