CONSOLE wars have long been a thing in the gaming community, with everyone questioning which gaming machine is the best.
However, as 2023 comes to a close, all the shows have given out their awards, and we now know which games are the best of the best.

While people were arguing over whether Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo has the best console, it turns out that the answer is all of them.
Nintendo ended up with three awards at The Game Awards this year, gaming’s equivalent of the Oscars.
Pikmin 4 picked up Best Strategy Game, Super Mario Bros. Wonder was voted as Best Family Game, and Tears of the Kingdom won Best Action/Adventure Game.
Xbox has a similarly good showing, with three wins for its big first-party games.

Forza Motorsport picked up two awards for Best Sports Game, and Innovation in Accessibility, while surprise hit Hi-Fi Rush went home with Best Audio Design.
PlayStation didn’t win any awards for its first-party titles, but three PlayStation console exclusives ended up taking home prizes.
Resident Evil 8 won Best VR game, Tchia won Games for Impact, and Final Fantasy 16 won Best Score.
Final Fantasy Rebirth won Most Anticipated Game, while The Last of Us was considered the Best Adaptation.

However, two other games equaled or surpassed the big three’s efforts, despite only being a single title.
Alan Wake 2 managed to pick up three awards, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative.
However, the big winner of 2023 was Baldur’s Gate 3 scooping up a huge six awards for Best Multiplayer, Best RPG, Best Community Support, Best Performance, Player’s Voice, and Game of the Year.
