XBOX users have worked out a way to save money and still play their favorite games.
It’s useful for subscribers of Xbox Games Pass who are finding the subscription expensive.
Xbox Games Pass Ultimate costs $16.99 a month after the initial $1 for a month’s trial.
It’s website explains: “Play hundreds of high-quality games solo or with friends on console, PC, or cloud.
“There’s always something new to play with Ultimate.”
Reddit user kingsleydostoyevski revealed that this isn’t always a good deal for everyone.
They wrote on a popular Reddit thread: “I own Xbox Series S. So I made a little list of games that I can play in a year by considering how much time I can game.
“Buying these games are cheaper than the subscription cost of GP Ultimate 12 months.”
Games on the list include Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Vampire Survivors, and Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
The Reddit user added: “I would still have a lot more money left compared to 12 months of GP Ultimate.”

They added that they could also add Baldur’s Gate 3 and still be saving money.
The user said they would be happy with Games Pass if they hadn’t bought those games mentioned already.
Another Xbox user commented: “It really makes sense to buy games on sale and to cancel GP if you prefer games that are not on GP.
“You can play at your own pace without worrying about renewing GP. You can save money and buy another game on sale.”
In general, if you only play a small number of games, Xbox Games Pass Ultimate might not be for you.
Work out how many games you play and the cost and you may find it’s cheaper to just buy the games outright.
Alternatively, you can try out Xbox Games Pass Core.
That still gives you access to lots of games but only costs $9.99 a month.
