Woolworths ‘pick n mix’ is back and you can buy it from Very

CHRISTMAS dreams really can come true – Woolworths pick n mix is back.

The selection of sweets are now available to buy with the familiar Woolies branding for the first time since the beloved shop disappeared from the high street.

Very, the online retailer which owns the Woolworths trademark, has resurrected what’s arguably the best part of the retailer’s legacy.

You can buy the jar of pick n mix online now and it’s full of 10 pick n mix classics, including fruit salads, kola cubes and jelly snakes.

It’s not quite the same as real life pic n mix – although the traditional displays of pick n mix have been a victim of coronavirus at places like Wilko, Tesco and Morrisons.

But you can still sit back and chew on an Anglo Bubbly, while remembering spending Saturdays carefully picking the perfect combo of sweets for your pocket money.

What’s in Woolies pick n mix?

Will you find your fave among Woolworths’ mix of sweets? According to Very’s research, the nation’s favourite sweet is a classic cola bottle.

The Woolies pick n mix jar is priced at £16.99 for 90g. The money made from the treats will go to the charity Coram Beanstalk, which provides one-to-one reading support in primary schools.

You can find pick n mix cheaper elsewhere – but they don’t come with the Woolworths logo.

B&M sells a massive 550g tub of pick n mix sweets for £1.99 and Wilko’s Candy King pick n mix has a 720g pack for £10 and it comes in a mini pick and mix display.

Jeremy Stevens, Very category director, said: “So many of us have fond childhood memories of Woolworths’ amazing selection of sweets.

“The launch of this much-loved product is a fun and nostalgic way to support our charity partner, Coram Beanstalk, to help them raise much needed funds for the great work they do.”

Woolworths fans were left gutted when tweets claiming the return of the much loved store turned out to be a hoax.

The shop collapsed in 2008 and the pick and mix stand is much missed – you can even find Woolworths pick n mix bags being sold on eBay.
