Wonder Woman 1984 Is Being Delayed

In a move that was bound to happen sooner or later, the release date for Wonder Woman 1984 is being pushed back. The film, a follow-up to Patty Jenkins’ wildly successful 2017 movie Wonder Woman, will now hit theaters in August of this year. The shift comes as theaters around the world are shuttered in an attempt to stop the spread of Covid-19. “We made Wonder Woman 1984 for the big screen and I believe in the power of cinema,” Jenkins wrote in a post on Twitter on Tuesday. “In these terrible times, when theater owners are struggling as so many are, we are excited to re-date our film to August 14th, 2020 in a theater near you, and pray for better times for all by then.”
