From a crisp Pinot Grigio to a smooth Merlot, most supermarkets have a wide range of delicious wines to choose from.
But if you’re not a seasoned wine connoisseur, deciding which bottle to buy can be a daunting process.
Thankfully, help is at hand, thanks to a new app, aptly named Wineapp.
The app features over 550 bottles of wine, as well as a quiz that surveys you on which foods and drinks you enjoy to determine exactly which bottles will suit your palate.
Wineapp explained: ‘Not sure what wines you like? Take our short taste quiz and get a whole list of recommended wines, matched solely to your unique taste buds. Alternately you can browse by food pairing and match wines to your upcoming meals.’

Wineapp describes itself as ‘your very own pocket wine cellar’, and offers on-demand delivery of over 550 wines, ranging from £9 to over £1,000.
If you’re feeling confident and know exactly which wines you like, you can simply browse through Wineapp’s shop, refining your search by colour, country, taste, or body.
However, if you’ve got no idea where to start, the wine quiz is your go-to feature.

Questions include ‘how do you like your coffee?’, ‘how do you feel about salt?’ and ‘how adventurous are you when it comes to food and drink?’
Based on your answers, Wineapp’s algorithm will then suggest wines on its ‘Shop’ page, which you can order directly from.
Wineapp said: ‘This handy option lets you really get to grips with what you actually want and like. Say goodbye to randomly plucking bottles off the shelf!’
Meanwhile, if you’re having a dinner party and are unsure which wines to serve, the app’s Explore tab has several food pairing suggestions.
For example, if you’re serving pizza, the app suggests a Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, a Primitivo Salento, or a Rioja Crianza.
Or if it’s shellfish on the menu, the app advises you dish up your fish with a Sauvignon Blanc, a Cinsault Rose, or Trebbiano IGT Rubicone.

Thankfully, across the app, users have the option to filter by price, ensuring there’s something to suit every budget.
Once you’ve selected a wine, you’ll find lots of helpful information to help you decide whether or not it’s worth ordering.
This includes a wine overview (year, size, ABV), flavours and reviews from both experts and other users.
