Gardening fans rush to Wilko for bargain buys

One savvy gardening fan took to money-saving Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK and shared a snap of the mega seed and vegetable shopping haul they nabbed during a recent visit.

The delighted shopper penned: “Thanks Wilko – that’s the allotment sorted!”

While she didn’t reveal the exact discounted prices she paid for the items, she did share the huge variety of bargains on offer – from carrots and chives to parsnips, leeks and basil.

And employees confirmed that prices start from as little as 5p…

The post quickly racked up hundreds of likes and comments from green-fingered social media users up and down the country.

But while some assumed the prices have been slashed due to the store being on the brink of administration, employees and Wilko super fans revealed the huge discounts are the same every year.
