Is Wickes open over the Christmas holidays?

Home improvement retailer Wickes will be closed for three days over the festive period.

The retailer will shut over Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.

After implementing these closures over the past three years, Wickes has decided to continue with the practice.

This is to enable their colleagues to enjoy quality time with their loved ones.

David Wood, chief executive officer, at Wickes said: “Here at Wickes we want our colleagues to know that all of their hard work definitely doesn’t go unnoticed and is hugely appreciated.

“That is why we have decided that our Christmas closures will be implemented yearly as a way to thank everyone for their tremendous service throughout the year.”

The store will re-open to the public on Wednesday, December 27 2023.

It said all of its 230 stores nationwide will be open to customers as from 7.30am to 7pm.

The branch will also be open on Saturday December 23 from 8am – 6pm.

However, opening hours may still vary from branch to branch depending on its size and location.

The best thing to do is use the retailer’s store locator found on its website.

It will bring up your nearest branch and its specific opening hours.

What shops are closed over the Christmas holidays?

Thousands of shops are set to close for up to three days over Christmas to give staff more time to spend with their family.

Most stores are closed on Christmas Day, but will open up again on Boxing Day for the sales.

But some may be operating different opening hours than normal.

Pubs and restaurants will be especially busy during this period.

Attractions across the UK will also be open, such as theme parks, zoos, museums, and galleries, although the timings may vary.

Public transport may operate a reduced service as well, so make sure you check with your transport provider to avoid any delays.
