Anyanga has been charged with attempted murder, and the court has decided that either Ksh300,000 in cash or Ksh1 million in the bond will suffice to release him on bail as reported by Kenyans.
After the ex-member of parliament’s monetary bail was paid, he was released from detention and allowed to leave the building.
On July 23, it was reported that Anyanga, who is standing for office under the banner of the UPIA party ticket, shot Justus Ochieng in a local pub in Lwanda Konyango, which is located in the county of Migori. The location of Lwanda Konyango is specified as being in the county of Migori.
In the initial stages of the investigation, law enforcement personnel took hold of his pistol along with 12 rounds of ammunition on the evening of the incident. Ochieng hurt his hip badly, and as soon as it was safe to do so, an emergency medical team took him to a nearby hospital to get treatment right away.
After Ochieng’s acquaintances filed a report, the detectives assigned to the case started looking for Anyanga, who had been the MP for the area in the past. This was in response to the fact that the report had been filed.
