The Amazon Fire Stick has a clever troubleshooting system to tell you why the remote might not be working

1) Why Does my Amazon Fire TV Stick not work?

And the fourth could be that the device is not switched on.

How does the fire stick remote work?

The TV remote works similar to any other remote but is far simpler to use with some state of the art features.

It has seven buttons and a control panel with arrows to navigate around the screen.

Its most exciting feature is the voice control button which is located at the top of the remote and means you can talk into it to access what you want.

Simply hold down the button and give it a command such as “Netflix” and as if by magic Netflix will open.

Is there a monthly fee amazon Fire TV Stick?

There is no monthly cost to use an Amazon Fire Stick.

So once you’ve paid the initial purchase fee, there’s no additional cost just to use your fancy new streaming stick.

But, several of the apps and channels available on the Fire Stick will require subscriptions in order to access them.

4) How to fix my amazon Fire TV Stick

To find out what is causing an issue you need to press any button on the remote and it will flash a colour to indicate whats wrong.

The way to find out if it’s low battery that is causing the issue is to check if the light is red and slow blinking.

If It is then the battery needs to be replaced.

If the light is red and fast flashing then this means a problem with the remote is the cause of the problem and you should reset your Fire TV remote.

If the light is orange it means the remote isn’t paired with your Fire TV.

Restart your Fire TV device and wait until “Cannot detect your remote” appears on-screen.

Then, pair your Fire TV remote again by pressing and holding the Home button on the remote for 10 seconds.

If the light is white then make sure the device is switched on and restart TV if the problem persists.

5) Roku vs Amazon Fire TV Stick

There are very few differences between Roku and Amazon Fire TV Stick.

One of the most obvious differences is the price as the Roku Express 4K costs £39.99 while the Fire TV Stick starts at £44.99.

Both the Roku Express 4K and Amazon Fire TV Stick allow you to control the TV with your voice.

With the Amazon Fire TV Stick it comes in the form of a button on the remote, and on the in-app remote for Roku.

The Amazon Fire TV Stick was updated in 2020 to include power and volume buttons on the remote.

They also made the smart TV stick 50 per cent more powerful than its 2019 predecessor but the simple addition of the buttons means you no longer have to switch between remotes to turn the volume up or down.

The Roku Express 4K does not have volume buttons or shortcuts.

But the streaming device does come with the free Roku mobile app that includes an extra remote and the volume and shortcuts can found this way.
