Bailey Zappe Got His Name Because Of His Mother’s Crush
On Oct. 17, Zappe appeared on the Merloni, Fauria & Mego show on Audacy’s WEEI 93.7 in Boston and said that his initial name was inspired by a Party of Five character his mother had a crush on.
“Because she and my father were together, I don’t think she’ll publicly acknowledge to having a crush on [Bailey Salinger],” Zappe explained. “She liked his personality and was expecting me.”
Scott Wolf, who played Bailey Salinger on Party of Five from 1994 to 2000, reacted to learning that the athlete was named after him.
“I received a billion texts from pals,” Wolf stated on Audacy’s The Bradfo Sho. “I was born in Boston, so I have a lot of Pats fans in my family, and they were the first to reach out… It was pretty amusing and entertaining. Throughout my life, I’ve heard, ‘Hey, I named my son after you, my daughter after you, or my dog after you.’ I get a lot of Bailey-named dogs. So having an NFL quarterback called Bailey was the coolest thing I’d ever heard.”
“Every time I meet someone named Bailey or hear the name Bailey, it always just flashes through my mind like oh, I wonder if, you know…” Wolf continued. As I previously stated, it gets a certain kind of feeling when someone says I named my dog Bailey. But it’s considerably more flattering when a starting quarterback in the NFL is named after your character.”

Zappe’s girlfriend, like her beau, is a native of Texas, and they’ve known each other since they were teenagers. They are, in fact, high school sweethearts. She, too, is an athlete, having played beach volleyball in high school.
Lewis is also quite active on social media, and she gave fans a sneak glimpse at her game day costume on Oct. 16, ahead of Zappe’s second career start. She also often publishes images of herself with the QB and commemorates their achievements on Instagram.
Lewis marked their fifth anniversary by saying on Instagram, “Happy 5-year anniversary to my rock!!” The first two and a half years were spent together, the next two and a half years were spent apart, and now we’re back together! You make every day we spend together worthwhile! I wouldn’t want to spend my life with anybody else than you! You’re my best friend as well as my other half! “I adore you!!”
Lewis Has Proved That She’s One Of Her Beau’s Biggest Supporters
Lewis has dedicated several nice Instagram posts and Instagram Stories to Zappe. What she said after the Patriots drafted her partner in April was a sweet homage that fans adored.
“Bailey Michael Zappe, it’s been nothing short of incredible to watch you work so hard to reach your dreams!” Lewis burst out laughing. “When we initially met and I asked you what you intended to do after college, you said without hesitation, NFL.” Despite all challenges, you persevered and made your dreams a reality. You are an inspiration to me every day, and you should be very proud of yourself. “I adore you!”
