META, the company behind the Oculus VR headset, has come out with gift cards to buy apps and games.
They’re called Meta Quest gift cards, as the company phases out the Oculus name in favour of Meta.

Which shops sell Oculus Quest store gift cards?
There are no physical shops in the UK currently selling the Meta Quest vouchers.
This is because they are still a relatively new product.
They are only for sale on Amazon.com – the US version of the site for $5, $10 or $25.
The gift cards are received by email, so there’s no need to worry about it getting lost in international transit.
How to redeem a Oculus Quest store gift card
Gamers can redeem gift cards in the Meta Quest mobile app or on the Meta Quest Store.
To redeem a gift card on the Meta website:
- Head to https://store.meta.com/redeem-code from your browser.
- Sign in with your Meta account, or create one if you don’t have one.
- Under Redeem code, click Enter code to enter your gift card code.
- Click Next to add the Meta Quest gift card to your account.
- Now, you can use your gift card to purchase apps and experiences on the Meta Quest store.

To redeem a gift card on the Meta Quest app:
- First, install the Meta Quest app on your iPhone or Android device.
- Then sign in with your Meta account, or create one if you don’t have one.
- Tap Menu, then hit Wallet.
- Tap the plus icon to add the card to your digital wallet.
- Tap Gift card.
- Enter your code under Gift card code.
- Tap Redeem.
Your wallet should now contain your gift card balance and you can use it to purchase apps and experiences at the Meta Quest store.
If you’re having trouble sending or redeeming your gift card, Meta suggests making sure that your software is up to date.
Or, you can try restarting the Meta Quest mobile app.
What are the dangers of gift cards?
Gift cards can only be redeemed once and are redeemable by anyone who has access to them.
After making purchases with a gift card, there might be a small amount of money left.
If this isn’t used, maybe due to forgetfulness or it being too small a sum, it ends up as money wasted.
However, Meta Quest gift cards don’t expire.
Losing a gift card or having it stolen can also be a headache.
