Two of the most powerful beasts discussed in the Game of Thrones series are Balerion and Vhagar, and they are yet to feature in the show. The fans are already running out of patience as they are the biggest dragons in the GOT world, known for their heroic battle tales.
Although only two episodes have premiered to date, the two ancient dragons are the subject of queries among the fans, and thus, here is what we know about them.
Where Is Vhagar Dragon From House Of The Dragon?
Vhagar dragon is yet to feature in the House of the Dragon series as Lady Laena Velaryon will ride her in the upcoming timeline.
In episode two of Hosue of the Dragon, we saw Lady Laena asking about the whereabouts of Vhagar, the oldest dragon in existence, to King Viserys, to which the King admits that he is unsure of its existence.
Vhagar had grown too big to fit in the Dragonpit and thus is roaming free in the world. Therefore, no one knows its present whereabouts and what the beast is up to, reports Inverse. But the recent development shows that the Velaryon princess Laena is close to finding Vhagar.
In case you are up for spoilers, Vhagar was born in 52 AC and will die in 130 AC during the Targaryen civil war, reports Inverse, which is around 15 to 17 years from the episode two timeline.
Where Is Balerion, The Black Dread In House Of The Dragon?
Balerion, the black dread dragon, predates the current timeline of House of the Dragon, as it died long before King Viserys’s rule.
It was the most powerful and enormous dragon ever under the control of Targaryens. According to Screenrant, the Targaryens brought three dragons when they fled the Doom of Valerya to settle in Dragonstone.
Among the three, the most vicious was the dragon Balerion. Aegon the conqueror rode the giant dragon when the Targaryens took control of the Seven Kingdoms and established their dynasty. It was a large creature with black scales and wings; even the fire it breathed was black with occasional dark red swirls of flame.
However, Balerion existed long before the House of the Dragon series began, in 101 AC. Screenrant further reveals that the largest dragon of the Targaryens died in 94 BC, when King Viserys’s grandfather, King Jaehaerys, was in power. Viserys also got the chance to ride the Balerion for less than a year, as per reports.
Whose Dragon Egg Did Daemon Stole In House Of The Dragon?
Daemon stole the egg of the dragon Dreamfyre in the second episode of the House of the Dragon.
The episode titled The Rogue Prince portrayed King Viserys’s brother, Daemon, stealing the dragon egg of Dreamfyre as he captured the Dragonstone with his gold cloak members and his dragon, Caraxes. Caraxes and Rhaenyra’s dragon, Syrax, were facing off each other in the Dragonstone pathway before Rhaenyra managed to convince Daemon and take back the egg.
Dreamfyre is an old dragon, previously ridden by princess Rhaena Targaryen. In the upcoming timeline of the series, King Viserys’s daughter from Queen Alicent Hightower, Helaena Targaryen, will ride the creature.
