Where can I buy cheap Easter Eggs?

EASTER is over for another year – and it means it’s time for savvy shoppers to hunt down deals on leftover chocolate.

Supermarkets typically sell off chocolate eggs for cheap after Easter in order to clear stock.

However, shoppers may be disappointed to know that some retailers have already sold out of the treats this year.

It comes after Marks & Spencer and Asda both warned customers they were running out of Easter eggs at the end of March.

Over the Easter weekend, Asda and Tesco shoppers were then left furious after finding their treats were missing from online deliveries.

Easter eggs were spotted on sale as early as Christmas Eve – four months before the bank holiday.

Where can I buy cheap Easter eggs?

If you’re on the hunt for discounted Easter eggs, it could be worth popping by your local supermarket to see if they have any left in stock.

Some of the big four supermarkets have sold out of the majority of eggs online, but they typically slash prices in store to get rid of stock.

It’s best to give your nearest store a ring first to avoid disappointment though, as stock levels will vary between shops.

The Sun has asked the big four supermarkets and B&M whether it plans to reduce Easter egg prices in store.

Asda said it won’t as it’s pretty much sold through its stock, while the others are yet to come back to us.

Although Asda, Sainsbury’s and Iceland have no Easter eggs up for grabs online, you’ll be able to get them at their rivals.

For example, Morrisons’ Easter egg prices start from 99p for a Smarties egg weighing 119g.

Alternatively, you can snap up 121g and 128g eggs with Aero Bubbles and Rolo Milk chocolate for the same price tag.

Meanwhile, Tesco is selling a 155g Cadbury Bournville egg for £2.

Online supermarket Ocado has also slashed the price of a bunch of eggs online, with a 542g Cadbury Daim treat now available for £6, down from £12.

B&M is another retailer that has listed discounted Easter chocolate on its website.

Prices start from 49p for a six-pack of KitKat mini bunnies, down from £1.

Or you can get a 70g pack of Aero mini eggs for the same price, down from 89p.

Keep in mind that B&M doesn’t offer online shopping though, so you’ll need to shop in store to get your hands on the treats.

Alternatively, Thorntons has reduced more than 30 Easter treats online.

The majority of them have already sold out, but you can still get 50% off a 265g Easter egg, now setting you back £5, down from £10.

Or if you don’t want to spend that much, you can get a football-themed Easter egg for £2.50, down from £4.
