Is Fortnite on downtime right now?

Yes, Fortnite servers are down right now for scheduled maintenance to release patch v26.30.

The new patch will kickstart the Fortnitemares 2023 event, launching today, October 10, 2023.

Matchmaking in Fortnite was disabled 30 minutes before maintenance started this morning, in preparation for v26.30’s deployment, which began at 8am UK time / 3am ET.

Epic Games posted about the downtime on the Fortnite Status Twitter account moments before taking servers down.

The developers also warned players that the Fortnite v26.20 patch’s file size will be larger than usual.

Usually, during new patch launches, Fortnite servers become unavailable at 9am UK time / 4am ET, but the last couple of times, Epic Games have moved the start time up by an hour.

How long is Fortnite downtime?

Epic Games has not given end times for the scheduled maintenance, but they will keep players posted when downtime ends.

How long will Fortnite be down for patch v26.30 and Fortnitemares 2023

We don’t know for sure how long the deployment of the patch will last, but server maintenance periods for previous season releases and big content updates have taken up to three or four hours.

If that’s the case with Fortnitemares and patch v26.30’s deployment, we should expect servers to be back online at 12pm UK time / 7am ET at the earliest.

In any case the Fortnitemares 2023 event is likely to start at around 2pm UK time / 9am ET today.

This means the new patch and event content could go live in an hour or two, unless deployment takes longer than usual.
