DRIVERS will be able to clean their wheels next week as the UK moves to Step 2 of the government’s lockdown roadmap.
From Monday, hand car washes and other non-essential retail will be allowed to reopen after being forced to shut since January.

Some major changes are coming into force next week, as many business can reopen for the first time since lockdown three began earlier in the year.
Are car washes open in lockdown?
Automatic car washes are already open and have been allowed to operate despite the current lockdown.
But manual car washes like your local hand car wash had to remain closed while the restrictions have been in place.
But this is soon to change, as manual car washes are allowed to reopen with other non-essential businesses on April 12, as per guidance on the Gov.uk website.
They have not been allowed to open sooner because they have a higher risk of Covid-19 transmission than automatic facilities.
Some mobile car valets are still allowed to work currently too.
Due to the nature of their work, they can come to you and clean your car in your drive and then leave again.
They can work under the list of “tradesmen” which are permitted to continue work for certain duties.
Do I need to get my car washed?
By law, you have to be able to see out of your windscreen and your number plates must be visible.
So with the restrictions changing next Monday, you’ll easily be able to keep your car clean and roadworthy.
The government is hopeful that places like car washes won’t have to close again as the cautious approach taken to this last lockdown should ensure the reopening of the country is irreversible.

Businesses could be fined between £1,000 and £10,000 for breaking the lockdown rules.
Other essential services like car garages are still open at the moment, and you can still get your MOT.
Non essential shops are set to reopen on April 12 along with other restrictions easing in the country as well.
