WHATSAPP has a brand new app for millions of Windows users, boss Mark Zuckerberg revealed last night.

Users can now host up to 32 people in one audio call from their PCs or laptops, and up to eight people in a video chat.

Android and Mac users are also going to be on the receiving end of some new upgrades in the coming weeks and months

The new app doesn’t scrimp on end-to-end-encryption either, despite a tussle with the UK government over the security feature.

“Now you can make E2E encrypted video calls with up to 8 people and audio calls with up to 32 people,” Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg said in a statement on Facebook last night.

This means that personal messages, photos, videos, voice notes and calls are not accessible to anyone but you and whoever you sent them to.

Not even WhatsApp has access to them.

The new Windows desktop app loads faster and mirrors WhatsApp’s popular mobile app.

The Meta-owned app is the most popular messaging service in the world, used by some 2billion people.

Linking devices and switching between the mobile and the desktop app is now faster than ever, the company said.

But Windows users aren’t the only ones with a new upgrade on the table.

Android and Mac users are also going to be on the receiving end of some new upgrades in the coming weeks and months.

WhatsApp said: “As we continue to increase the number of devices which support WhatsApp, we’ve just introduced a new WhatsApp beta experience for Android tablets.

“We’re also launching a new, faster app for Mac desktops that is currently in the early stages of beta.”

The new WhatsApp app for Windows is available to download here.
