WhatsApp now lets you mute a chat FOREVER – this is how to do it

WHATSAPP users can now mute a chat forever thanks to a new update.

This is great news for people who want to stop getting notifications from a group chat but feel like they can’t leave it completely.

Before this, users had the option of muting the a chat for one year maximum.

Once this one year was up they’d suddenly be flooded with notifications again.

Now, the one year mute option has been replaced with “Always”.

To make use of this new peace inducing feature just follow the steps below.

How to mute a WhatsApp chat forever

Make sure you’ve updated to the latest version of the WhatsApp app.

Then open WhatsApp and click on the chat you want to mute.

This can be a group or just a single person.

Click on the name of the chat at the top.

You should see the option for “Mute”.

Click this and then click “Always”.

There’s also the option to mute for eight hours or a week if you’re just looking for a little bit of quiet time.
