Supermarkets have been essential for shoppers across the country to pick up important items like food or medicine over the past year.

We have all the details on Co-op opening times, so you know when’s best to pick up tonight’s tea or restock the fridge.

When are Co-op branches opening and closing?

Most of their stores will be open from 7am to 10pm and stores with a petrol station can stay open until 11pm.

Opening hours can vary between stores though, so it’s always best to check with the Co-op store locator tool to see when your nearest shop is open.

When is the best time to shop there?

Google has a tracker that allows you to see when the peak times are.

If you search for “Co-op” and then click on your nearest store, it will show a bar chart of when the store’s busiest times are.

Is the Co-op doing home delivery?

Delivery is still available for you to receive your groceries straight to your door.

You can order your shopping online and get your delivery, or collect in-store within two hours.

The delivery charge can start from 99p and there is a minimum £15 spend.

There might be a carrier bag charge too but this will be displayed when you checkout.

Home delivery is also available on Deliveroo, so if you’re in a rush to stock your fridge then the service can take less than 30 minutes.

The fee for Deliveroo can be about £3 usually, but depending on what you buy and how far you live from a Co-op, the service is also offering free delivery.

Is there a limit on items?

Last year Co-op had a limit of two per customer for selected essential items.

There is no current limit on items in the store but customers are still being advised to adhere to things like social distancing.

And they are being asked to wear a mask and use any hand sanitiser provided when they go to shop.

If you want to know where’s best to pick up your groceries, the cheapest supermarkets in the UK were revealed in a recent study by Which?.

Since restrictions have eased, non essential retail as well as pub gardens opened on April 12.

But places like cinemas and bingo halls are to stay closed until at least May 17.
