And the pair say they already know exactly how they are going to spend the money.

Mark, 56, was on holiday in Manilva, Spain, with his pal, professional darts player Mark ‘Webby’ Webster, when found out he had won the huge sum.

The 56-year-old who works as a Security guard said: “He was just shaking his head and saying it was unbelievable and that he was so pleased for me

“We’re going to a beach bar tonight for my mate’s 60th and I’ll be putting a few bottles of Champagne behind the bar.”

Gobsmacked Mark admitted he’ll be able to cut down his hours at work. He said: “It’s a life-changing amount of money. It’s going to make things so much easier.

“I’m not getting any younger as I’m 57 next month, so I can now be more selective about when I work.”

Kathryn, 50, was also away when they were told of the winnings – at a hen party with pals.

She said: “I would have had a good time anyway but I’ll have an amazing time now.

HR manager Kathyrn, who had plans to go on a hen do that evening, said: “I’ll definitely be having some champagne tonight. I would have had a good time anyway, but I am going to have an amazing time now.

“I didn’t really get to celebrate my 50th birthday as my dad wasn’t very well. I think I’ll take the family away somewhere nice and then go on a girls trip. I deserve one!”

The couple, who have been together for 20 years, will spend some of the money on renovating their garden and Mark says he is scrapping his plans for a man cave to make way for a “man mansion”.

He said: “I started building a man cave about four years ago, but it’s been an eyesore in the garden ever since. I think I’ll knock it down and build a much bigger one.

“And yes, it will have a dartboard.”

It comes after 14 people on Lymington Road in Nottingham together scooped £1million.

Karen Walker, 49, scooped the joint-largest sum of £125,000.

She plans to use the money to help husband Dale Walker, 45, who suffers from multiple sclerosis.

She said: “It’s overwhelming because I’ve never had this much money in my life before.

“We can get the bathroom, kitchen, conservatory, flooring and everything done now. It’s always been a dream up until now but now the dream is here.”
