Tonya, his wife, and their three daughters survive him. They went on to say that Wayne, who joined the NFL in 2007, had spent ten years establishing himself as one of the top officials in the league.
He joined the officiating department in 2017 after retiring from on-field officiating in 2016. He was still passing on his knowledge and abilities to the next generation.
