Walmart Inc. said a news release announcing an alleged partnership with Litecoin is fraudulent.

The news release issued Monday morning purported to come from Walmart and claimed the retail giant would allow customers to make payments with cryptocurrencies. The release was sent to news release distribution services and tweeted out by Litecoin’s official Twitter account.
