VIRGIN Media customers were unable to access the internet due to a network outage this morning.
Around 2,200 people reported a drop in their internet connection from 10am today, according to outage tracker Downdetector.
A map on Downdetector showed that most connection issues were being reported in London, Manchester and Birmingham.
There were also problems recorded in Nottingham and Leeds.
The outage has since been fixed and customers should be able to get online.
A Virgin Media spokesperson said: “The issue which very briefly impacted some customers’ broadband services this morning has now been fixed.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
During the outage, frustrated customers took to social media to complain.
One Virgin Media user wrote on Twitter: “Virgin media down. Apparently all over the country. I swear one of these days they’ll provide a steady service.”
Another said: “Virgin Media down again. Past a joke now.”
Virgin Media customers have suffered outages in the past.
Users reported that the service was down on July 7, before being correctly shortly after and it also failed on May 5, leaving customers unable to get online.
Services also went down on April 14, March 2, March 3 and March 10 for thousands of customers across the UK.
The broadband provider has a dedicated web page where you can find out if there are any problems in your area.
