Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc. said Friday that Chamath Palihapitiya would step down from his roles as board member and chairman to focus on other corporate commitments.

The aerospace and space-travel company said Evan Lovell, who has been on the board since 2017 and is chief investment officer of Virgin Group, will serve as interim chairman until a new chairman is in place.
