The Perfume Shop has posted bumper sales after shoppers splashed out on Valentine’s Day gifts.
The company, which has 211 shops across the UK, said sales between February 4 and 14 were 18 per cent higher than in the same period of 2023.
A total of 200,000 bottles of perfume were sold by the firm in this time. Best-sellers for women included YSL Black Opium, Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense, and Carolina Herrera Good Girl, which is advertised by model Karlie Kloss.
Popular scents for men included Dior Sauvage and Boss Bottled Night. Sales of gift sets were more than double last year’s level.
The day before Valentine’s Day, February 13, was its website’s busiest day of the year so far as customers rushed to buy last minute presents.
Perfume purchases online were 23 per cent higher compared to the same day last year.
Andrea Rickard, The Perfume Shop’s trading director, said: ‘We’re so pleased to see exceptional sales results from both our stores and online.’
