Nowadays it doesn’t take hackers much to bypass iPhone security – especially if a person has only enabled a 6-digit PIN.

There are many hacking tools that could generate all the possible combinations to unlock your phone.

Some people are even tricking iPhones into unlocking a user’s biometric Face ID password.

Thankfully, Apple has provided users with a third way to secure their devices.

This includes the option to create a lengthy, alphanumeric password for your iPhone.

Not only does this improve the privacy of your device, but it makes it really difficult for hackers to break into your phone.

How does this work?

This is a genuine, strong password – like one you would generate for a banking app.

And setting it up on an iPhone is as easy as setting up your 4-digit or 6-digit PIN.

Just head into your device’s Settings app > select Face ID and Passcode.

Once there, enter your current PIN and scroll down until you see “Change Passcode.”

You will be prompted to enter your passcode again. Once you do that tap on the button labeled Passcode Options.

Several choices should pop up after you do that. Select the one that says “Custom Alphanumeric Code.”

This option lets you create your own unique passcode with up to 34 numbers, letters, and special characters.

However, it’s important to note that, if you go down this route you will need to enter it every time you need to unlock your device.

Outside of that, your phone will likely be the most secure it’s ever been.
