CHEERS to the bank holiday and an al fresco drink or two!
This weekend, it’s expected Brits will be raising a glass with friends and family — and sales of fizz are already soaring.
Demand has increased so much that the average price of a bottle is now £25.15.
If you fancy some bubbles with your bubble, uncork some of these savings.
CHAMPS AWAY: The clever people at Vouchercloud.co.uk did some essential research across 15 major retailers.
Aldi’s Nicolas de Montbart Champagne came out on top at a bargain £11.49.
Vouchercloud also spotted some big savings in unlikely places, with the Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée costing £26.66 a bottle at Waitrose, instead of £43.99 at Virgin Wines — a £17.33 saving!
SAVE: £13.66 at Aldi vs. average cost.
BIG WINS: You can get 25 per cent off when you buy six bottles of wine or fizz at Sainsbury’s.
That means prosecco fans can pick up six bottles of Freixenet Prosecco at a cost of £9 each instead of £12 each.
Normally a box of six would cost £72, but the offer brings the price down to £54.
SAVE: £18 on six bottles.
FIZZ FRENZY: Who doesn’t love a little glass of prosecco after a long day?
Well, Morrisons have come to the rescue and they are selling their Sorso Prosecco DOC for £4.99 a bottle this week.
Normally it costs £7.50, which is a pretty impressive saving.
That means ten bottles would cost you under £50. Stash and save this one!
SAVE: £2.51 per bottle
TOP TINS: Lidl has just launched new bargain fizz-in-a-tin and they look very glam.
The Canned Secco Italiano White and the pink Canned Secco Italiano Rosé arrived in store this week and are £1.49 each.
The cheapest alternative I could find is the Most Wanted sparkling Pinot Grigio in a can, £2 from Tesco, so that’s a nice saving.
Lidl’s tins of gin and tonic will be back on shelves in the next few weeks, too.
SAVE: 51p per can.
