UBER wants drivers to start doing chores around people’s homes in its latest drive away from rides and takeaway deliveries.
The company has started testing a new Uber Tasks service in two cities.

Workers can come to your house to do things like building furniture, washing or tidying up the garden.
Other chores include snow removal, packing and unpacking boxes and even putting up your Christmas decorations.
People have been quick to notice the similarity to TaskRabbit, a freelance labour app that matches handymen with everyday tasks.
Users who need something done just need to list what it is on the app and wait for a suitable worker to come forward, reports Bloomberg.

A spokesperson told The Verge it’s only a “small pilot” for the moment.
“We’re always thinking about how to bring people more ways to earn with Uber,” rep Conor Ferguson said.
“This small pilot is the newest way for drivers and couriers to put their skills to work and earn on their own schedule.”
Reaction has been mixed on social media.

The move comes as Uber attempts to diversify beyond its original car hailing roots.
In the UK, the company recently added the ability to book trains and flights.
The Uber Tasks trial will take place in Fort Myers, Florida and Edmonton, Alberta.
