A TWO-BED flat in a swanky West London postcode is available to rent for £875 a month – but the tenants will need to like each other very much indeed.

The furnished property – described as “nicely-sized” by dangerously optimistic letting agents – lies inside a lovely five-storey block in Barons Court.

But just a cursory glance at the Rightmove ad will reveal one very big catch for prospective renters.

The tiny studio features two beds bizarrely stacked on top of each other, with a single mattress tucked underneath a wooden bunk bed-style structure.

Whoever takes the top bunk will have to climb a ladder every time they want to take 40 winks – although at least their bed is a double.

Meanwhile, the flat also features a cubicle shower, which has been slotted against the front door.

Pals who do choose to share the weeny space won’t have any privacy at all – even when they’re washing their hair.

There’s precious little else in the flat, with no floor space for a sofa.

A tiny kitchenette features just a fridge, sink, kettle and microwave.

And there’s no obvious toilet in the room either, and no mention of one in the advertisement.

Despite the obvious drawbacks, the flat is likely to draw plenty of attention from would-be occupants.

It’s in a very trendy area of the capital and lies moments from two major Tube stations, West Kensington and Barons Court.

It’s also around the corner from the Queens Tennis Club, while plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars are within a short walk.

Agents Foxtons say the “bright and airy” property is available for a long let.

“Set on the third floor of a nicely brick-built building, this studio flat offers a good-sized living space that is presented in a neutral décor,” they say.

“Barons Court offers a range of local amenities, including the award-winning butchers, HG. Walter.”

BUDGET WOES

Flat-hunters on a budget will know that finding a nice property in London is no easy task.

A one-bed home in posh Holland Park is on the market for £802 – but it’s got two big problems.

The first is that the new tenant can’t expect much in the way of daylight as the only exterior window has been completely covered by a scaffolding tower.

Sheeting has been drawn over the structure, meaning there’ll be no sunshine at all for the duration of the works.

And the occupant will be well-advised to keep the curtains drawn, or risk impromptu sightings of workmen going about their day.

Meanwhile, the bed can be found atop a platform close to the ceiling.

Going for a drink of water at night will be perilous, with the tenant forced to step out at an odd angle before finding the first rung.

Elsewhere, a room in Willesden, north-west of the city, is available for just £450 a month.

However, there’s an appropriate reason for the low rent.

The space features just a bed and a kitchen – and the room is so tiny that the occupant will be able to cook their dinner while tucked up under the duvet.
