Twitter Inc. said President Trump will regain the ability to use his personal account Thursday after a series of posts a day earlier about protests and violence in Washington were deemed to undermine the electoral process.

The social-media company Wednesday temporarily locked Mr. Trump’s account after removing three of his tweets from public viewing, saying they represented “repeated and severe violations” of its policies.

Facebook Inc. also removed posts from President Trump and temporarily locked his account. The restrictions were implemented after pro-Trump rioters invaded the U.S. Capitol Wednesday and threatened lawmakers.
