Trainline ticket sales have plunged more than 80 per cent due to lockdowns and travel restrictions
Ticket sales plunged by more than 80 per cent at the rail and coach booking site Trainline due to lockdowns and travel restrictions.
The FTSE 250-listed firm sold tickets worth £358million on its website and app in the six months to August 31.
It raked in £1.8billion during the same period of last year. Britons were instructed to only take public transport for essential reasons between April and June.
Although travel has increased since, passenger numbers are still around a third below normal levels after diving by 95 per cent at the height of lockdown.
Boss Clare Gilmartin said the long-term prospects were still strong because the Government plans big investments.
The 45-year-old sold £16million of shares when the company listed on the stock market last year and another £3million in September.
