Some Topcashback customers have had long delays to pick up their rewards
Online shoppers who use TopCashback face waits of more than a year for rewards.
The firm pays cashback to shoppers who buy anything from clothes to insurance policies via its website.
It says it can take up to three months for some cashback payments to arrive. But some Topcashback customers have had much longer delays.
Mohammed Usman, 33, from Coventry, is still waiting for the £45 he was promised after signing up to a Sim-only contract with Three in August 2019.
A few weeks after he took out the contract, he was told his claim was ‘on ice’ for three months. He says he has repeatedly chased TopCashback, but is still waiting.
After Money Mail took his case to TopCashback, it found an admin error meant it had never invoiced Three for the money. It has since sent the cash to Mohammed.
A Topcasback spokesman says it has to wait to be paid by retailers in order to pass money on to customers, and that ‘even outside a pandemic’ delays can occur.
