TELLY lovers will find three new channels on their sets later this month that won’t cost a penny.

The trio will largely centre around some of the BBC‘s much-loved long-time shows.

And the company behind the project plan to introduce even more free channels in future too.

It’s all comes amid a steady increase in internet-streamed channels that have popped up from the likes of Pluto TV and Amazon‘s Freevee in recent years.

Even Freeview‘s owner is planning to launch a brand new streaming-based TV service called Freely.

But for now TalkTalk TV, Community Fibre TV and Better TV can expect these three channels on their boxes for the first time.

One channel is dedicated to BBC One daytime staple Homes Under the Hammer.

The show has been running for 26 series since starting in 2003.

And another is one for the cooking show fans, with back-to-back episodes of the Great British Menu.

Great British Menu has clocked up hundreds of episodes across its 18 series run on the BBC.

The third channel is called So…Real, with a focus on everything reality TV.

All three already exist on some services such as Virgin Media.

But later this month they’ll be available on TalkTalk TV, Community Fibre TV and Better TV to customers in the UK and Ireland.

It comes as the company that powers the boxes – Netgem TV – signs a deal with All3Media International, the firm behind hits such as The Traitors and The Tourist.

Once launched, it’ll bring Netgem’s channel line-up to more than 130.

“We recognise a shift in consumer behaviour, expecting ad-supported content to be of high quality and operated in the same way as traditional Pay TV,” said Sylvain Thevenot, Chief Commercial & Customer Officer of Netgem.

“In line with this trend, our content acquisition strategy is to provide the best content at no extra cost for our clients across Europe.

“All3Media International brings just that with fantastic channels such as Homes Under The Hammer and The Great British Menu, which will resonate particularly well with our audience.”

Amanda Stevens, Director of Global Partnerships at All3Media International added: “We’re excited to bring some of All3Media International’s highest rating FAST channels to Netgem customers.

“Homes Under the Hammer and Great British Menu give viewers the chance to binge-watch these much-loved shows, and So..Real brings the best in unfiltered reality television.”
