ROCKSTAR decided to launch the GTA 6 trailer earlier than expected after it leaked online.

While fans were only blessed with 90 seconds of new footage, there was a lot of information for people to dissect.

There will be a much higher focus on social media.

We’ve broken down the GTA 6 trailer and spotted all the new features we think will be in the game.

Here’s the six new features we will see in GTA 6.

GTA 6 new features: Co-operative dual protagonists

In the trailer we were introduced to Lucia, a girl who starts out in jail and later goes on heists with her partner.

The male partner was unnamed in the trailer, but from leaks we expect his name to be Jason.

More in GTA 6

In the trailer, we see the pair talking about doing heists together and working as a team.

It’s unconfirmed again, but this seems like it will be the first mainline GTA game to feature two-person co-op.

GTA 6 new features: TikTok and live streaming

There was a heavy emphasis on social media apps in the trailer, including apps that mimic platforms like TikTok with live streaming.

While a version of Facebook was in previous GTA games, the TikTok trend only emerged after the launch of GTA 5.

It appears that Lucia will be able to livestream events that she sees around Vice City, and the reactions make it seem like you can build a social media following.

This could be used to unlock contacts, or generate money for the pair.

GTA 6 new features: Wild animals

Fans of GTA Online will know that wandering wild animals were recently added, and in the mainline games we only saw this occasionally in GTA 5.

The trailer has confirmed that wild animals will be part of Vice City, as we saw a crocodile walking into a convenience store.

This incident is used as a live streaming moment, but it could be that they have more of an impact in the wider game.

GTA 6 new features: More buildings to explore

In the trailer, we saw Lucia and her partner barging through doors to take part in heists, and we also saw the inside of a number of buildings.

Usually in mainline GTA games there are a few buildings you can enter, but the vast majority are closed off and more part of the scenery.

The trailer suggests that the majority of buildings will be enterable with some suggesting up to 70%.

While this is just a rough estimate, it seems that there will be far more interiors to explore in the upcoming game.

GTA 6 new features: New vehicles and areas

We saw a huge number of vehicles in the trailer, but there were two that people had their eyes on.

Hovercrafts and yachts were both shown as well as a number of bridges and far off islands.

It’s been confirmed that the GTA 6 map will be far bigger than Los Santos’, and players may even be able to travel to new islands using these vehicles.

Lucia also starts in jail, which could be a new type of location added in as the game’s prologue.

GTA 6 new features: Release date and platforms

The trailer revealed that GTA 6 will release in 2025, and thanks to financial reporting we also know it will release in early 2025.

Publisher Take-Two reported that its biggest game yet will be released in financial year 2025, which narrows the release window down to between January and early April 2025.

The platforms that GTA 6 will be released on were also confirmed, and only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S owners will be able to play.

This was a harsh blow to PC gamers, who are used to enjoying the latest GTA games.
