BLACK Friday has officially kicked off this year but shoppers hoping to bag a bargain at some shops will be disappointed.

While the sales event has grown in popularity in the UK over the past few years, not all retailers take part.

Some high street stores aren’t cutting their prices today

Most high street stores offer discounts on Black Friday and in the week leading up to the big day.

But some retailers have decided to buck the trend by keeping prices at normal levels.

They’re mainly stores that are already known for their low prices, meaning shoppers can get a good deal all year round.

Some of them have held Black Friday sales before and others have always refused to take part.

This year Primark and Home Bargains are among the shops not discounting their stock for Black Friday.

Here are the retailers where you won’t get extra money off today.

Primark

Primark doesn’t hold Black Friday sales and this year is no exception.

The retailer is known for its low prices all year round so doesn’t cut them even further during the sales event.

Home Bargains

Home Bargains confirmed that it won’t hold a Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale this year and it hasn’t done so in the past.

But it’s already known for offering cheap deals on top brands across items ranging from food to toys.

B&M

Like last year, B&M isn’t taking part in Black Friday today, but the retailer has offers on all year round.

At the moment it’s got sales on Christmas gift ideas, furniture, electronics and DIY items.

Poundland

Poundland has a Black Friday section on its website but there are no deals listed.

It didn’t take part in last year’s Black Friday events either – presumably because its prices are already so low.

TK Maxx

TK Maxx is known for selling designer goods at lower prices, so hasn’t taken part in Black Friday this year.

On the website it says: “Black Friday? Ha! We’re up to 60% off less every single day!”

Next

Next hasn’t confirmed whether it’s taking part in Black Friday this year but there are no promotions advertised on its website – so it’s not holding an online sale.

It didn’t join in with Black Friday in 2020 either but in previous years the fashion retailer has taken part with massive discounts online and in store.

Plenty of retailers are getting involved in Black Friday, though, and we’ve rounded up the best DIY, tech, fashion and toy deals.
