FEELING lucky? Choosing the right Lotto numbers could make you even luckier, as we reveal the most common winners.

The National Lottery first launched in the UK in 1994, and it’s famous slogan “It could be you” quickly caught the attention of wannabe millionaires.

For £1 a ticket, consumers were promised the chance to become a millionaire overnight.

You could even win more – like the Brit who recently scooped an incredible £109million jackpot in the Euromillions.

And while some people prefer a lucky dip, others are loyal to the same numbers every week.

The odds of winning the Lotto jackpot are currently around 45million to one.

And it got even harder to win in 2015, when more numbers were added into the mix

Previously, customers chose six numbers between 1 and 49, but this was expanded to 59.

Still, at least there are more opportunties to try your luck in now.

In 1997, a midweek draw was added on a Wednesday in the UK.

And in 2004, the Euromillions launched, giving Brits the chance to go up ahead others across Europe for a huge jackpot prize.

But is there a way to increase your chances of winning?

Some might swear by wearing their lucky pants, or by keeping their numbers a secret.

You might pick numbers that coincide with special dates, or simply close your eyes and choose.

But could knowing the numbers that come up the most help?

We’ve rounded up the Lotto and Euromillion numbers that appear most regularly.

Lotto winners

Ball 40 is the most common one to come out of the machine in the UK Lotto – it’s appeared 350 times since the National Lottery was launched.

Balls 23 and 27 have each appeared 346 times, and 38 and 39 have been drawn 345 times each.

It’s worth pointing out that numbers below 50 have been in the mix for longer, so are more likely to appear in the most common list.

The numbers 50 to 59 were added in October 2015.

Since then, ball 55 has appeared 69 times and ball 59 has popped up in 68 draws.

And if you think 13 is an unlucky number, you could be right – it’s only appeared 280 times.

Everything you need to know about Lottery and EuroMillions

EuroMillions

In the EuroMillions, participants choose five numbers from 1 to 50.

Since it’s been running, ball 19 has been the most frequently drawn, appearing 171 times.

Close behind are balls 23, 44 and 50 – each of which have come up 170 times.

And ball 38 has appeared 168 times in the EuroMillions.

Of course, the draws are random so there are no guarantees that these numbers will continue to be the most commonly drawn.

One Brit told how their numbers came up – six weeks AFTER they’d stopped playing.

And a Lotto expert reveals what actually happens if you win the jackpot.

Crucially, you should always gamble responsibly and never bet more money than you can afford to lose.
