This is known as cached data – and its the same cache that you’re encouraged to clear on your laptop or PC from time-to-time.

People often overlook that their phones, too, can keep hold of this cache data.

And clearing it can help free some storage space on your phone.

How to clear cache on iPhone

Instead, iPhone users must go to into their Settings and scroll down to the list of apps installed on their phone.

From there, you can tap on individual apps to see if they have a clear cache option.

To clear the cache from Safari, simply follow these steps: Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data, select a timeframe, and tap Clear history.

Clearing the cache of most Android phones is very similar to that of an iPhone.

All Android owners need to do is go into Settings and scroll down to the Apps section.
